AMiE 2024

Economics is a multifaceted discipline that addresses a wide range of societal issues. It aims to meet the incessantly increasing needs of human beings by managing limited and insufficient wealth. Thus, it seeks to maximize the individuals’ and the societies’ satisfaction by addressing issues of scarcity and allocation of resources. In the course of history, several civilizations such as the Mesopotamian, Greek, Indian, Chinese, Persian, and Arab civilizations have already held economic thought.

In the late 19th, economic thought has witnessed a paradigm shift at the level of its conception. Indeed, the marginal utility concept has emerged and led to the development of neoclassical insights. Moreover, the neo-classics were predecessors in introducing mathematics into economics.

Currently, mathematics plays a crucial role in providing the theoretical framework and the analytical tools necessary for economic analysis and policy-making. These tools help economists solve complex economic problems and optimize decision-making processes particularly, in a world facing crucial challenges such as climate change, sanitary crises, and geopolitical upsets.

The first edition of AMiE’2024 offers the opportunity for an in-person, international event that aims at bringing together the scientific community, policy-makers, and practitioners, who make use of mathematics to significantly enhance the economic aspects of various economic fields. It will take place in Bejaia city, from 23rd to 24th October 2024.

Aims & Scope

Submission

Contributions of interest can be both theoretical or practical and must focus on the use of mathematical tools. Papers with a special focus on Algerian case studies are highly encouraged.

Three types of submission are allowed for this conference:

  • Type I: extended abstracts of at most two pages.
  • Type II: short papers of at most six pages.
  • Type III: published papers

Submitted abstracts and full papers will go through a blind review. The accepted ones will be included in the proceedings of the conference. Published papers will be accepted following their relevance to conference topics and will not be included in the proceedings.
